Order of St. Lazarus in Slovakia celebrated Investiture 2008 in Trnava.

In the medieval church of the Franciscan Monastery of Trnava the Grand Priory of Slovakia of the “Military and Hospitaller Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem” celebrated its High Mass 2008 with Investiture of new members of the Order. The Holy Mass was concelebrated by the Provincial of the Franciscan Order in Slovakia, H.G. Father Juraj Mihaly, and the Guardian of the Monastery in Trnava Father Stefan together with Capucine Father Jakub-Rafael.

The Grand Prior of the Grand Priory Slovakia HCG Mag. Dr. W. Breitenthaler invested new members to the Order, among them members of historic Nobility in Slovakia and Bosnia as well as Slovak diplomatic service. Due to his outstanding efforts in regards of contributions to the Order’s charitable and chivalric activities, Chevalier Mag. Daniel Holecek had been appointed Commander of the Order’s Commandery of Trnava. Order’s Delegations from Germany, Austria, Hungary, Netherlands, Mauritius, Sierra Leone, Montenegro and Switzerland attended the Order’s High Mass, as guests a.o. delegations of the S.M.H. Order of St. George, led by the Hon. Regent a.I. Prof. Dr. Peter Wallnöfer de Monte-Lichtenberg and Chief of Cabinet Martin Klein, Teutonic Order, Order of Cordon Bleu de Saint Esprit, headed by Commander Baron von Spielmann, and Boy Scouts Slovakia were present.

After Holy Mass a Magistral Reception followed in the courtyard of the Monastery, then all members of the Order and Guests of Honour had been invited for Gala Dinner to the beautiful Refektorium of the Monastery. Finally it was reported by the Deputy-Hospitaller of the Grand Priory, that the Order had supported slovak church-related and independent charitable institutions in 2007 with donations worth Euro 45.000.-, in practising the Order’s charitable mission to support the sick and poor, who cannot help themselves.
